Who am I?

I attend Suncoast High School in South Florida for 3 years .As a senior in 2006, I rushed for 1,080 yards and 19 touchdowns...As a junior at Suncoast High School, I rushed for 530 yards rushing and five touchdowns to go along with three interceptions on defense.In 2007 I,registered three solo tackles on special teams and five assisted tackles.I'm the son of a former Hurricanes.

This season I will battle for playing time at my position.I started my career on defense.

This spring I was the star of the spring game.You better watch out for me this season

Kevin Nelson will commit to being a Miami Hurricanes in 2010.

in a chat in his office Shannon said "you will see this team take the next step
``The Georgia Tech game last year [a 41-23 loss] made us grow a lot.
That will make us a better team record-wise. We're a lot more talented, have a
lot more depth. You don't have to worry about [defensive-line] depth any more.
Two years ago, you had only five defensive linemen to play in a game. That alone
should tell you how far we've come.''

Well time is ticking .This season as a fan I want to see the hurricanes play a full 60 minute.I want to see our running backs move the pile .I want to see Harris finally have a 4 touchdown game.

I want to see our coach staff not get befuddle on the sideline.I want to see out LB making sacks and our corner-back making interception .I want to see our defensive tackles taking over a games

I don't want to see our corner-back missing tackles, after tackles, after tackles .I don't want see Shannon taking mercy on the score board .I don't want to see another 6 or 7 win season.

Shannon said. ``I have confidence in the offense to be a lot better
because they're more experienced. I feel good about the whole
defense.'' He said running back, where UM has six solid players
(including freshmen Mike James and Lamar Miller), ''should be the strength.''
Not that Shannon expects slacking off, but ``if Javarris James and Graig Cooper
-- and they know it -- if they just want to be lazy, well, you play the other
guys. The best guys will play.''

Without question,the best guy should play. I hope the running back position is a opening competition .This will make our players and team better..

• UM rotated as many as nine receivers in 2008, but Shannon said ``we are
going to have maybe four, five guys that are playing. Sometimes people get in
the mode of saying talent, talent, talent. The guys who work the hardest are
going to play.''

I known what it mean to work hard .But, I want the guy who can make a different in gameday . No more starting guys like Khalil Jones the first two possession.The talent at receiver is ridiculous.You try and predict the Top 5 here my..

• Most improved players? Shannon cited offensive linemen Brandon Washington
(an early enrollee) and Harland Gunn, defensive end Adewale Ojomo, receiver
Leonard Hankerson and safety Randy Phillips. . . . He feels much better about
cornerback and expects ''big things'' from Brandon Harris.
• New coordinator Mark Whipple has done ''great things'' with the offense, and Shannon will not curtail his creativity. ''If we have to score 70,
we'll score 70,'' Shannon said. Another clear sign of Whipple's impact: ``Kids
want to be around coaches, want to watch more film on their own.''

• Shannon's concerns? Lack of backup experience at linebacker -- where '' Ray Buchanan, Jordan Futch and Arthur Brown have to help us'' -- and offensive line. Though Taylor Cook, the likely backup quarterback, improved, ``we've got to bring one of those young quarterbacks around because there's the one guy [ Jacory Harris] and then there's a void.''

Shannon loves Harris' evolution as a leader: ``The players like him. He's always with different guys, not just one group.''
• He said all six early enrollees ''can help us this year.'' Of UM's 19 signees, 17 will be on campus this month. Offensive lineman Malcolm Bunche is headed to prep school and wants to enroll at UM in January. Defensive back Prince Kent (academic problems) is expected to enroll elsewhere.

Unfortunately Prince will not be a Hurricane.

He said UM's ''culture'' is ''totally different'' - there are no off-field distractions, player arrests, etc. Because of that, ``I approach things differently. I don't have to keep grinding them. They are doing all the rights things.''
• Shannon, with two years left on his contract, said he and athletic director Kirby Hocutt spoke about an extension. ``We feel like it's going to happen, but he's busy doing some things . . . as far as facilities.''

Q.What do you think of SEC football,and ACC football..?

A.I think the SEC and the ACC are 2 of the toughest conference in NCAA football

Q.What do you think of Miami?

A.Miami is a good school to attend i like Miami a lot but no one from Miami are recruiting me

A.If Georgia Tech or Georgia offer yea they will have a spot in my top five

Q.When do you plan on making a decision?

A.I'll make the decision to where i want to go when the time is right. but it's not even close

Q.Do you really post a 40 inch vertical jump at the Nike camp? What was the reaction of the other players around?

A.Yeah the 40.9 vertical jump was legit i can jump but i can barely dunk lol! oh and the guys around were just like wow it felt good.

Q.Are there any schools you're hoping to get an offer from?

A.l'd love to play for THE U but wherever i go i will make the best of it. Nobody will outwork me

Q.What do you think of Miami,SEC football,and ACC Football..

A.I think Miami has a rich tradition of great players to come through and that's something I could see myself being a part of team

A.The ACC is a great conference, but nobody can has yet to match the speed or talent of the SEC. an SEC team has won the FBS championship for the past 4 or 5 years now

Q.Do you play any other position other than Running Back?

A.For my school i have played inside and outside linebacker, qb, and rb... this year i will play rb and I'm not sure what on defense

Q.Who is your role models ?

A.my role model is Adrian Peterson. He is the best running back in the league and i think the reason is because no one out works him.

Two Prep we go..........

IT seem two 2009 freshman recruits are being held up by NCAA Clearinghouse admission to UM .Newark (Del.) High School OL Malcolm Bunche and Prince Kent both player was looking to competing for some playing time this fall.If Kent and Bunche are not allowed to report to UM on JUNE 30, then both players will head off to prep-school to pick up the extra credits.If Bunche and Kent pick up the extra credit need, then both players will be allow to report some time in January.Bunche "My test scores weren't as good as they were supposed to be," Bunche said. "So, I have to go to a prep school. Hopefully, its Milford. I'll spend a semester up there and then I will definitely get back to Miami in January and partake in spring practice"
