Dwayne Collins has withdrawn his name from the upcoming NBA Draft and will return to the University of Miami for his senior season in 2009-10.

The 6-8 senior forward had workouts with the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat, but had not hired an agent to retain the option of returning to the Hurricanes.

“I’m really glad I took this opportunity,” said Collins. “I got to talk to some NBA personnel about what I need to do so I can reach my goal of playing professional basketball. It was a really good experience and will help me next year. I appreciate Coach [Frank] Haith and the staff’s support of me in all of this.”

“I think this was a positive experience for Dwayne,” added Miami head coach Frank Haith. “He will be able to use the feedback he received as he continues to develop his game. He is an important player for our team, and I absolutely believe he has the potential to be one of the best big men in the ACC this season.”

The Miami Hurricanes will have at least three prime-time football games this season.The Atlantic Coast Conference released its early-season television schedule Thursday, announcing the Hurricanes will play twice in front of a national audience. UM plays at Florida State at 8 p.m., for a Labor Day game Sept. 7 on ESPN. The Hurricanes then face Georgia Tech at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 17 on ESPN.UM's game against Central Florida is set for 7:30 p.m., Oct. 17 on CBS College Sports.

Stephenson linebacker Tyrone Cornileus says he hopes to make a commitment by the end of June. To whom will he commit, however, remains the question.
Georgia Tech is high on his list, though Miami is the leader in a group that includes Alabama, Auburn, Michigan and South Carolina. All told, he has 17 scholarship offers.
Cornileus was vague about what it would take for Tech to overtake the Hurricanes. “Pretty much just make me feel very loved,” the answer he gave CaneSport.com, leaves itself open to many interpretations.
